Nameless Asura (名も無き修羅, Namonaki Shura)
An Asura warrior who had not yet earned himself a name. He fights using the Shura Nindō style and at the age of fifteen it was said he single-handedly routed a 100 of Akashachi's crew, as well as taking Akashachi's eye and leg, during the pirate's botched raid on the island.
When a weakened Falco visited the island in search of the abducted Lin, the Nameless Asura ambushed the outsider and removed his artificial leg. Kenshiro arrives to find the moribund Falco and engages in a brief clash with the Nameless Asura, who initially surprises Ken with his speed and agility. However, Falco cuts short the battle in his desire for a rematch and has Kenshiro strike his Sekkatsukō vital point to restore Falco's health for one last showdown.
The Nameless Asura is overpowered by the rejuvenated Falco and buries himself underneath the sand for a sneak attack. Falco freezes the ground to detect the Nameless Asura's position before heating it up to force him out of hiding. The Nameless Asura leaps out of the burning earth and descends on Falco with his Venomous Spider Hand Blade technique, but Falco blocks it with one hand and slices him clean in-half with the other. With his final words, the Nameless Asura warns them that even greater demons await them from here on in.
The term Nameless Asura can be used to apply to other Asura who haven't earned a name. Falco derisively calls him Sunagumo (砂蜘蛛, "Sand Spider"), which has become a popular nickname for the character.

Appearance[]

He is a young man who has dark brown hair and almond-shaped eyes. His hair is styled into a cross between a long ponytail and a bowlcut, and he also wears an eerie looking mask that has no features on it besides a pair of eyeholes and six arrows pointing down and up painted onto it.

He wears a plated metal cuirass, a pair of vambraces with plates of armor over them, a pair of plated metal tassets, a plain pair of pants, and boots with plated metal armor over them.

Personality[]

Like any other Asura, he is incredibly aggressive towards outsiders to the point where he will attack them on sight, and he is shown to be incredibly bloodthirsty, as he murdered 100 of Akashachi's crew members and maimed Akashachi himself, resulting in him losing an eye and a leg.

He also enjoys fighting strong opponents, as he said his blood was boiling while he was fighting Kenshiro, and despite this, he is more than willing to attack an already injured opponent as seen with his attack on Falco.

Abilities[]

The Nameless Asura is a master combatant and practicant of Shura Nindō, centered on local ninjutsu techniques from the Land of Asura. He is very strong, agile and also intelligent, and at the mere age of 15 years old, he was able to slaughter the bulk of Akashachi's crew numbering nearly 100 men, entirely by himself.

He is a master of weapons, being able to use different sets of equipment with great proficiency. He used a pair of extendable metal poles which he could swing or even use as a platform to perform acrobatic maneuvers. His mastery over them is so deep that it was as if the poles were his own limbs. He is also able to use Shuriken and manipulate them to disappear from sight only to attack from underground. He is also adept at knife throwing.

His strength is so high that he can pierce through another man's body with his hands, which he incorporates into his Meppa Yōga technique. He is also proficient at tactical thinking as he was able to come up with the idea of camouflaging himself using the soil around him.

By far and lot his most noteworthy achievement was to critically injure Falco whose strength rivaled Kenshiro. However, Falco was injured by the wound on his chest inflicted by Kenshiro, and was taken advantage of his prosthetic which the Nameless Asura used to defeat Falco. Had neither of these happened, Kenshiro is confident he couldn't have defeated Falco, demonstrated by an invigorated Falco slicing the Nameless Asura to his death.

Shin Hokuto Musou[]

The Nameless Asura is available as a DLC playable character.

  • His nickname of Sunagumo is derived from the spider species known as the Six-Eyed Sand Spider, which notable for it's hunting behavior of camouflaging itself with sand and then ambushing it's prey, this behavior is similar to his Hama Sunagumo technique.
  • Outlaw in the Hokuto musou games is known as Nameless Outlaw(名も無き悪党), which is very similar to Nameless Asura's title, perhaps to make them counterparts.
