Gyoko (ギョウコ, Gyōko)

A morbidly obese Asura who is self-conscious of his weight to the point that he kills anyone who insinuates that he is fat or compares him to a pig. He rides a train called The Peregrine Falcon (ハヤブサ号, Hayabusa-gō) across the wasteland on the hunt for Kenshiro in order to win favor with Kaioh. Kenshiro rips both of Gyoko's arms off and sends him flying with a single punch, impaling him on the front of the train.

TV series

In the anime, he intends to plow through a village that is blocking his path but the train is halted by Kenshiro. Recognizing Kenshiro from a wanted poster, he seizes the opportunity to kill him, but his minions are destroyed and Gyoko is defeated by a blow to the stomach. Kenshiro sends Gyoko on the train back to Kaioh, disrupting the funeral being held for Sayaka.

Gyoko survives long enough to pass on Kenshiro's declaration of war, which incurs the wrath of Hyoh. As Gyoko's body explodes from Kenshiro's previous attack, Hyoh obliterates what's left of him with his matouki.

Appearance

He is an incredibly fat and tall Asura who is completely bald (although he has a receding head of blond hair in the anime) who wears face-paint over his eyes, and has a face like a gorilla, complete with sharp teeth.

He is bare-chested, and wears a pair of vambraces, a plate of armor that slightly covers his belly, and a collar with four bone-like extensions on the left and right side.

Personality

He is insecure about his weight as he takes extreme offense towards comments that can be considered as remarks about his weight, to the point where he will even kill his own henchmen in a fit of rage. He is also ambitious, as he plans to kill Kenshiro in order to become a Rasho, and he is also somebody who takes initiative, as he is introduced as having already set out to find Kenshiro. He also holds a great respect for Kaioh's strength, as he believes that Ken would be an easier fight after being defeated once by Kaioh, showcasing that he also has a high amount of faith in his leader.

In the anime, he is depicted as being far more comical, as he is now a glutton and a klutz, as well as being far more buffoonish than in the manga, as he accidentally gets himself stuck in the ground and breaks a hole in his train from trying to get his head unstuck in a window. He is also depicted as being far more malevolent, as he was willing to run over a village in his train when in the manga he was presumably only after Kenshiro.

Abilities

Very little is shown of his abilities as he is killed before he can even make a proper attack, but he is shown to have fitting strength for a man of his size and stature, as he is easily able to lift up another man and toss him as if he were trash.

He carries a knife around which he used to threaten a minion of his with, but he isn't seen using it in combat proper, leaving his true skills with it unknown.
